Links to Scouting 2015

Buffalo Trail Council is proud to host one of the longest running golf tournaments in the state. After 39 years, the face of the council’s tournament has been changed slightly in order to heat up the competition and give participants an opportunity to experience the fun of Scouting – even if they’ve never been a Scout.

The tournament location has also been changed to Green Tree Country Club in Midland, one of the premiere courses in all of Texas.

The tournament location has been moved to Green Tree Country Club, Midland, one of the premiere courses in Texas.

Beginning with the 2015 tournament, each four person team will not only match their golfing skills against other teams, at each hole, they’ll be given an additional challenge that is unique to Scouting. That means double the fun!

Typical challenges might range from the following:

    1. KNOT TYING
    2. FIRST AID
    3. PLANT IDENTIFICATION
    4. THE 12 POINTS OF THE SCOUT LAW
    5. AND MUCH MORE! (There will be a Scout Challenge on every other hole)

Awards will not only be given to top golfers but also those who prove to be the best prepared in Scout skills and knowledge. Golfers of all ages, experience levels and backgrounds are welcome and encouraged to participate whether they’ve been a Scout or not.
