GALVESTON—GALVESTON ISLAND STATE PARK

From I-45: 61st SE 2 miles; FM 3005 (Seawall Blvd SW 11 miles. On Gulf of Mexico. Sites on beach side with water & electric (50 amp) 30, water only 24 (electricity will be restored to these sites). Bay side sites: with water & electric (50 amp) 20; water only 10. Limit 14 days. Reservations recommended. Dump stations (1 on each side), rest rooms, showers (at 2 of 3 beachside campgrounds; none currently on bayside), picnic tables, grills, fish-cleaning shelter. Swimming—beach, hiking trails, fishing. From N I-35, Exit 265: 130 Access Road S; left on County Road 152 1.5 miles E to park entrance. Near Berry Creek. About 300 acres. Improved tent sites with rest room & showers 18. No water or electric hookups at sites. Primitive tent camping sites 10. Pack-it-in, pack-It-out 1/3 of a mile hike to sites. Limit 14 days in a 30-day period. Reservations OK; otherwise first-come, first-served. Reservations recommended during spring & summer months. Flush toilets, drinking fountains, picnic tables, fire pits, 2 reservable pavilions.
